Seoul

Seoul is the capital of South Korea and is located in north-western Korean Peninsula. South Korea is surrounded by the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea and the Sea of Japan. The Han River flows through the city and along it are numerous city parks. The palaces of South Korea and its capital, Seoul, are tourist attractions every traveller can visit when visiting the South Korean capital. Seoul, with its typical culture and tradition, is interesting for travellers who for various reasons wish to explore Asia. It shows visitors its thousands of years of history. The city was founded by the ancestors of South Koreans along the Han River. Of course, it should be noted that this Asian metropolis now presents an excellent opportunity for those who want to experience the modern world where there’s something for everyone. The art enthusiasts will love the National Museum with its six permanent exhibitions in the galleries.

Gongju

Gongju city in Chungcheongnam-do, Korea is a hidden gem of a city that has so many historic, cultural, and artistic spots to see that you will want to spend at least a weekend there to see as much as you can. If you’re looking to head out of Seoul, look into Gongju for Korean Hanoks, fortresses, street art, outdoor artworks, and more. It is an awesome spot for an adventure in Korea. Jeonju

Jeonju is a city in western South Korea. It’s known for the Jeonju Hanok Heritage Village, an area of traditional houses, craft shops and food stalls. In the village, the 15th-century Gyeonggijeon Shrine has portraits of former kings. Jeonju Korean Traditional Wine Museum demonstrates the making of local rice wines. Omokdae and Imokdae are centuries-old hilltop pavilions with sweeping views. It is known for its traditional architecture, culture, and cuisine. Tourists can explore the Jeonju Hanok Village, the cultural heart of the city where visitors can stay in traditional Korean guesthouses and experience traditional Korean food culture. A Creative City of Gastronomy designated by UNESCO, Jeonju is a town of “taste” and “style” full of heritage of tradition, culture and arts.

Gwangju

Gwangju, Korea's sixth-largest city, is defined by its powerful political history and reverence for creativity. It is the home of the global art exhibition, the Gwanju Biennale, and is an art town with numerous cultural heritage scatteres throughout the city. Gwangju has been reborn as a cultural capital of Korea and a cultural hub of Asia, hosting the Gwangju Biennale and Design Biennale, a world-class festival in the field of contemporary art and design. It has many popular attractions, including 1913 Songjeong Station Market, Mudeungsan Mountain, The Gwangju Ecological Lake Park, making it well worth a visit.

Suncheon

Suncheon is in South Jeolla province on the south coast of the Korean Peninsula. It is about 1 hour from the major city of Gwangju. Suncheon is a mix of scenic agricultural areas and industrial prowess & also is a home to Naganeupseong Folk Village. It is an eco-city in Korea that is known as Korea's agriculture and industrial hub. THere are many places to visit in Suncheon namely Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve, Suncheon Bay National Garden, Suncheon Open Film Location, Seonamsa Temple, Songgwangsa Temple.

Yeosu

Located on the coast in Jeollanamdo, Yeosu is one of the southernmost cities in Korea, and it actually is its own peninsula. It’s bordered by the sea, Suncheon, Suncheon Bay, and Namhae. It is a port city on South Korea’s East China Sea coast. A breakwater links the port to Odongdo Island, home to red camellia blossoms and a lighthouse with an observatory. The clean waters and countless uninhabited islands of the southern sea mean that Yeosu is full of great spots across land and water. Yeosu is renowned nationally for having some of the most picturesque places for driving, walking, trekking and bathing, as well as for appreciating the sunrise and night-time panoramas. Yeosu is known for two big things: Yi Sun Shin and hosting the 2012 World Expo.

Jinju

Jinju is historically a significant city. It is a home to Jinju Castle and the world famous Namgang Lantern Festival. As a city that has held 1,000-year-old historical heritage of the ancient city, Jinju has been well renowned as a home of patriotic spirit, education, culture and art which situated west of Ch’angwŏn along the Nam River, a tributary of the Naktong River. With the beautiful Namgang River running through the town, Jinju has a heavenly-blessed natural environment close to Mt. Jiri National Park and Hallyeohaesang National Marine Park. Based on the rich culture and art infrastructure, the city is very vibrant.

Busan

Busan is the second largest city and best known port city of South Korea where visitors can enjoy a fun and tasty tour. The city’s traditional markets boast a delicious array of dishes, and the beaches of Busan, which are lined with fancy skyscrapers. It is also known for its mountains and temples. Busy Haeundae Beach features the Sea Life Aquarium, plus a Folk Square with traditional games such as tug-of-war, while Gwangalli Beach has many bars and views of modern Diamond Bridge. Beomeosa Temple, a Buddhist shrine founded in 678 A.D., is at the base of Geumjeong Mountain, which has hiking trails. Foodies will also find a special place in the city, with a great range of restaurants and dishes promising a memorable culinary experience. As a coastal city, fresh seafood is a common sight on any menu and there are some fantastic dishes specific to Busan which utilise these ingredients. Busan is cultivated by its citizens with passion and affection.

Gyeongju

Gyeongju was the capital city of Silla for 992 years. The history of Gyeongju, once called Seorabeol, is also the history of the thousand-year-old Silla Kingdom. This city embraces Buddhism, science, and vibrant ancient culture that blossomed by the artistry of the Silla people, and the great spirits of Hwarangdo that enabled the unification of the three kingdoms. Gyeongju is often referred to as "the museum without walls" because of the vast number of cultural properties and archaeological sites of the city. The cultural heritages of Gyeongju are the witnesses of the important role this city has played in the millennium of history in the Silk Roads. The city holds some of the first UNESCO designated heritage sites in the country, including Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple. In 2000, the Gyeongju Historic Areas were designated as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Ulsan

Ulsan is Korea’s smallest metropolitan city and traditionally been recognized as an industrial port city. The city is located in the southeast corner of the Korean peninsula, right next to Busan on the East Sea also known as the Sea of Japan. The world’s largest cargo ship manufacturers are located in Ulsan. Due to its southern coastal location, Ulsan residents get to enjoy mild winters and beautiful weather in the spring, summer and fall.

Andong

Literally meaning ‘peaceful land in the east,’ Andong is well known as a place of respect and courtesy. It is situated in the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula which is the capital city of North. It is also called “the capital of Korean spirit”, in Gyeongsangbuk-do is famous for a number of things including wooden masks, a spicy chicken dish called jimdak, the Andong Hahoe Village, and the Andong Mask Dance Festival to name a few. Andong is nestled in the bosom of the Baekdu Mountain Range, with Mt. Sobaek and Mt. Taebaek on both sides; the Nakdong River, the longest of its kinds in Korea, flows through it. Blessed with a beautiful and bountiful environment, Andong has a typical inland climate with four distinct seasons.

Wonju

Wonju is the most populous city in Gangwon Province, South Korea. The city is located approximately 140 kilometres east of Seoul. During the time of Great Joseon, Wonju was the capital of the historic Gangwon Province, one of the Eight Provinces of Korea. It is a market and processing centre for forest products from the nearby mountains. Industries include medical-equipment manufacturing. Among the area’s notable agricultural products are peaches, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms. Traditional lacquerware from the vicinity, made with inlaid mother-of-pearl, is famous. With multiple museums, hiking trails, and suspension bridges to visit, as well as the grand Wonju Market, Wonju is a great place to visit. It’s one of the best places to take a daytrip from Seoul.

Mt. Sorak

Seoraksan is the highest mountain in the Taebaek mountain range in the Gangwon Province in eastern South Korea. It is located in a national park near the city of Sokcho. After the Hallasan volcano on Jeju Island and Jirisan in the south, Seoraksan is the third highest mountain in South Korea. It is composed of dissected granite and gneiss, with rocky hills and ridges. Mount Sorak is the third highest mountain in the country, with the main peak (Daechung) at 1,708 meters above sea level.
