Activities

Seoul

Let's go for Seoul half day sightseeing – Gyeongbokgung Palace, The Royal Guard Changing Ceremony, National Folk Museum, Korean Ginseng Center. Then let's move to Korean Folk Village and experience the culture of the late Joseon Dynasty - a huge village that has about 260 different types of house of each province. There are other heritage sites namely Jongmyo Shrine, Changdeokgung Palace, Seon Jeong Neung Tomb, Ui reung etc.

Jeju Island

Jeju Island UNESCO Global Geopark is a Quaternary shield volcanic island characterized by an overall gentle topography and an elliptical shape, situated off the southern coast of the Korean Peninsula. The island was produced by volcanic activity which occurred from about 2 million years ago until historic times. Hallasan Mountain Natural Reserve, Geomunoreum Lava Tube System, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone are another heritage site of Jeju Island. Due to its breathtaking beauty, these three areas known as 'Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes' are selected unanimously by the World Heritage Committee as the first World Natural Heritage Site in South Korea.

Busan

Located at the southern tip of the Korean peninsula and with over 3.6 million people, Busan is South Korea's second largest city and is known for its beaches, local seafood and events such as the city's renowned international film festival. Bulguksa Temple is the representative relic of Gyeongju and was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995. The beauty of the temple itself and the artistic touch of the stone relics are known throughout the world.

Gyeongju

The Gyeongju Historic Areas contain a remarkable concentration of outstanding examples of Korean Buddhist art, in the form of sculptures, reliefs, pagodas, and the remains of temples and palaces from the flowering culture of Silla dynasty, in particular between the 7th and 10th century. It is known as “the museum without walls” because of the vast number of cultural properties and archaeological sites of the city.

Daegu

Daegu is one of the largest cities in South Korea, and coupled with its rich and ancient culture, it has a number of scenic attractions and beautiful mountains. Historically known for being the traditional court music centre during the Joseon Dynasty, Daegu is also responsible for first introducing Western music to Korea, as well as hosting the country's first piano performance. Korea’s balance of old traditions and contemporary culture has made it a popular destination with visitors around the world. Daegu, in particular, has a special place in Korean history. The city is full of cultural assets represented by 13 UNESCO World Heritage Sites boasting the traditional beauty of Korea.

Haeinsa Temple

Haeinsa is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Seon Buddhism in Gayasan National Park, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. Haeinsa is most notable for being the home of the Tripitaka Koreana, the whole of the Buddhist Scriptures carved onto 81,350 wooden printing blocks, which it has housed since 1398.

Andong

Literally meaning ‘peaceful land in the east,’ Andong is well known as a place of respect and courtesy. It is situated in the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula which is the capital city of North. It is also called “the capital of Korean spirit”, in Gyeongsangbuk-do is famous for a number of things including wooden masks, a spicy chicken dish called jimdak, the Andong Hahoe Village, and the Andong Mask Dance Festival to name a few. Andong is nestled in the bosom of the Baekdu Mountain Range, with Mt. Sobaek and Mt. Taebaek on both sides; the Nakdong River, the longest of its kinds in Korea, flows through it. Blessed with a beautiful and bountiful environment, Andong has a typical inland climate with four distinct seasons.

Gangneung

Gangneung is a coastal city with the scent of pine and coffee permeating throughout. The dazzling East Sea and lush pine forests are Gangneung’s gifts of nature. It has a diverse cultural heritage and has recently become known as a city of coffee, adored by seasoned travellers. Gangneung is a city that delights travellers with fresh seafood and exceptional local cuisine. Mt. Sorak

Seoraksan is the highest mountain in the Taebaek mountain range in the Gangwon Province in eastern South Korea. It is located in a national park near the city of Sokcho. After the Hallasan volcano on Jeju Island and Jirisan in the south, Seoraksan is the third highest mountain in South Korea. It is composed of dissected granite and gneiss, with rocky hills and ridges. Mount Sorak is the third highest mountain in the country, with the main peak (Daechung) at 1,708 meters above sea level.
